To whom it may concern letter

To whom it may concern,

I am one of your constituents’ and would like to make you aware of the medical uses for cannabis. As you may know, Cannabis is on the DEA schedule 1 classification. I feel that this is very wrong and it stifles research in an area of medicine that could benefit so many Americans. Israel has been researching Cannabis for close to 50 years and they use it to help their military cope with PTSD. Spain also does research in the benefits of Cannabis. According to the DEA they have loosened the restriction on research but it’s only in the area of addiction. I never thought that I would see the day that the United States of America would be scared of any finding that would help the American people. There are literally thousands of articles and video’s that testify to the benefits of cannabis including treatment for Cancer, epilepsy, Crohn’s disease, PTSD and so many others.

In 2015, there will be an estimated 1,658,370 new cancer cases diagnosed and 589,430 cancer deaths in the US. That’s 35.5% of new cancer cases are projected to die. We have nowhere near those numbers of gun deaths and look at the outrage. We have over one half million Americans dying from cancer and it maybe curable. This leads me to only two conclusions, One is that the DEA is full of incompetent individuals who are lacking the ability to make proper judgments or two the leadership inside the DEA is colluding with the pharmaceutical industry to protect its profits at the expense of the American people’s health. After all as an industry it only has an annual revenue stream, from cancer treatments alone, in excess of $100 billion dollars.

Enclosed with this letter is an article about cannabis, it is just one of many that I have. I am hoping it will open your eyes and your heart to the need for this life saving plant to be taken off schedule 1. Please feel free to share this information with your colleagues so they can help.

Thank You for your time in this matter.
